The entries written my Sophomore year

Remember that time it was summer and I couldn't update the page?

good times.

Remember that time I lost my frisbee behind the bushes of Brackett, and then it rained for the next five days so I could never go get it? But eventually it was move out day so I had to, so me and Cameron went in the rain, and found it, and there was some nasty cake back there too

good times

Remember that time Bonnie got her hair cut, and looked like her sister?

good times

Here's a story. Before my 1:00 exam, Brandt and I were watching America's Funniest Home Videos so then he put in a tape that he and a friend had made once called "The Unlucky Skier, Part V." There were only two people in it and they were playing about 4 different characters, and there was a character Skier X in it, looking for some dangerous slope or something ....

SO THEN when I am taking the exam, there is a question on logic statements and the example deals with skiers and mountains, and I smiled because I thought of that silly video, and then I am writing things like "There exists some skier x and some mountain y" and I can't help but laugh cause I think of Skier X - my roommate on the video running around with a ski mask on, with a big masking-tape X on the front. It made things much cheerier while taking the exam.

What are the chances?

Remember that time I popped popcorn and there were only 3 1/2 unpopped kernels?

good times.

I remember this time that Kyle Brown was doing some impression off the radio, I had never heard the original but it was still very funny... "Well hell-o there! And welcome to...... WAL-MART!" That did not quite capture it. Oh well

Thems the breaks

I remember this time we were playing frisbee golf and Scott showed up. It was the middle of exam week, at 10:30 at night, and it was very crowded.

Remember that time we went out to eat at Appleby's for J.B.'s birthday? And I had the distinct pleasure of sitting next to Jen Helm, and Joe Slack, and there was that poor girl (Leah) who know Joe and J.B. And I ordered French onion soup, and Jen had never seen such a thing. And Leah ordered smothered chicken and they handed her steak and she and Joe both said "Is that not steak?"

good times

Remember the Crusade end-of-the-year cookout on Jervey field? And how Jessica Kruczynski (had to look that one up) lost her ring in the grass, in the dark, and a bunch of us looked for it? And then Jon Noel found it, but then two minutes later she lost it again? And this time Bonnie found it. I tell you what, themz waz the dayz

Remember that time you were eating pancakes and got syrup on your fork and then on your hands?

haha

Remember that time that people came into Bible study with cake and presents for Scott and I for our birthdays, and it was the first time we ever saw girls at our Bible study (except for the ones that Chris Foster allegedly sees looking through the window each week)

good times

remember that time i IMed Bonnie and she took a while to respond and then said "Allison's here" and I said "I'll let you continue your little heart to heart" and she said "How did you know?"

good times

Remember that time Shannon and Katie came to lunch at Harcombe on Friday but no other days? 'Twas common this semester at least

good times

Remember that time Louie sang "For the Longest Time?"

good times.

Remember Clemstock '99? I don't because at this point it hasn't happened yet but I'm sure it will be a treat

Remember that time I played the eggs (shakers) at Crusade and everybody laughed?

good times ...

Remember that time that Austin Bond proposed to his girlfriend at FCA (I don't know Austin and he doesn't know me but anyway)

jslack13: Hey Eudy.
jslack13: remember that time when we went were in Littlejohn
jslack13: and we were watching the UNC game and we were up 15 points?
Eudy112: those were the days
jslack13:
:-)

Hey Joe, remember that time we played frisbee golf on a team and I played moderately well for me and you played moderately well for you and we didn't win?

good times.

Hey Jess, remember that time we played frisbee golf on a team and we both played miserably but hey we were never dissappointed at least

i doubt you do but thems was good times anyway

Hey I think those are the only two times I played on a team except for that time with Bonnie, I think those were the only three times

Except for that time when I played with some guy and girl I didn't know well, a team of three ... maybe the guy was Billy since there was a point when I didn't know him well but I don't really recall

good times

Remember that time we went to that concert and there was music

good times

I remember this time that I was walking with David and Michelle to the Choral Ensembles Spring Concert and I kind of misjudged a step down (but didn't trip) but neither of them noticed so it didn't really matter, but then when we got to the concert Shannon Cooke brought it up, so she could laugh at me I suppose, because she had seen it somehow and she said she didn't want to say anything because then I would know she was stalking me or something like that

good times

I remember this time that a RECORD number of people remembered my birthday, but somehow all remembered it exactly one week earlier than it really was, many independently of each other, so I was getting numerous belated happy birthdays before my birthday had even come

good times

Remember that time Jess and Bonnie were both at dinner, and left at different times?

Me neither.

Remember that time that Billy wore a shirt that was NOT soccer-related?

Neither do I.

Remember that time that Brendan wasn't grumpy?

Me neither. :-)

Remember that time that Katie Madding logged off AOL Instant Messanger?

Me neither.

Remember that time Chad played the drums at Crusade and it was loud?

good times

Remember that time that Tom dyed his hair blue?

good times.

Remember that time we were at dinner and somebody said something funny and we all laughed, but then the laughter stopped, but it didn't really matter since somebody else was about to say something funny at that point?

good times.

Remember that time that Michelle made chocolate chip muffins and came by but I was not here (3-27-99) so another day she made some banana nut muffins and we sat and ate them and talked about old times and then I went back to my room and Darren came there looking for me (The only time I've ever seen Darren in McCabe) this story doesn't have any punchline and neither do any of the others but anyway

good times.

So I was walking down the hall in McCabe and I heard some girl cough and I turned around to see who it was. I didn't know her but she saw me look at her. I felt kind of silly having looked at her and not knowing her but it didn't matter because she got on the elevator and I wouldn't have to deal with her anymore. So I walk down one floor and go to the study lounge and who do I see come out of the elevator but Coughing Girl. So I go into the study lounge and do homework for 45 or 50 minutes and when I leave who is standing there waiting on the elevator but Coughing Girl.

Amazing true story

(submitted by David McMahan)

I remember how Kevin and I went to see the German play and I "translated" the phrase Louie sang into English: "The Prince has donkey ears. The Prince has donkey ears. Donkey ears has the Prince." Then we kept singing it all weekend. The best part was when we frightened people like Billy, Bonnie, and Becky (Bonnie's Becky) at the Coffee House.

That same weekend I watched The English Patient with Kevin and Jess and found out through the running commentary that the movie was based on the book only in the fact that they have the same title and roughly the same setting. (Oh yeah, the overall plots are similar in idea.) Except for the twenty "fast forward" scenes, it was a pretty good movie--as far as long, boring, depressing movies with lots of flashbacks go.

It don't get no better than that! (sic)

I remember this time that we were at dinner and Jess came to the table with this big glob of goo on her plate and she said "I didn't know what it was but I decided to try it" and she tasted it, and there was a pause, and then she said, "Oh! It's mayo." And let me tell you it was some foul looking mayonaisse.

I remember this time that we were at lunch and I asked "Why is Katie walking around with pretzels?" and Shannon said "Why does Katie do half the things she does? Why does she talk to herself? Why do I stare at her while she sleeps?" And I pondered over that last comment and she didn't sound like she was joking and so I was just at a loss as to what to say.

good times.

I remember this time I went to cookie break and Daniel Ott was there and had been studying for quite some time and it showed and he was doodling on napkins and told an odd story about a tree (not that it wasn't a good story, Daniel)

Then I went to Joe's to watch the basketball game but the basketball game was over but I stayed there anyway

story of my life

And also there were much Snickers and I had to stretch far to reach the trash can to throw away Cameron's wrappers ahhhh its moments like THAT that really stay with you or don't stay with you at all unless you write them down, I don't remember which

good times

I remember this time that things happened and then other things happened, some of which I put on my website and some of which I did not, but could have

good times

I remember this time that I went to see a German play and it was in German so I couldn't understand a lick of it but Louie was in it and was quite humorous, especially since he was speaking German, Michelle was in it too and there were kings and queens (or at least one of each) and also donkeys, it was the donkeys that sold the play, although technically there were no donkeys

good times

And also it is the hand motions and sound effects that sell any story, that is what we discussed at lunch today, that and other things

Big Break '99 Memories!

I remember on the first night there were a bunch of us playing Trivial Pursuit and John Cliver had Allison believing that the lights were on the clapper (and me too for a while)

good times

and on that note, Allison got her camera to take a picture of the lights on the clapper, but how are you going to do that?

good times

I remember how the guy at the meetings kept making fun of Clemson, saying that we rode in on a tractor, and then he sang that song and it had that in it, and then at the end of the week he had "Top 13 things you'll never hear a Clemson student say" and we also won the group photo because we got ours taken on a tractor

good times

I remember how Joe Slack, John Cliver, John Clark, Jonathan Denton and I prepared some musical selections while the women were meeting on Wednesday and we had them ready to perform the rest of the week

I remember going to the hot tub one night and one of the girls from another school knew Joe by name already and I stayed there a little while but it was pretty hot and I didn't know anyone but Joe and then Dave Schubert and Shannon Cooke showed up but I was just too hot and had to leave, and then later that week I found out that the hot tubs gave people rashes and Shannon had the rash and I was glad I only went once.

I remember this time I wanted to see The Late Show but found out I had missed it since we were on Central time (although Conan O'Brian was on)

good times

I remember John Cliver and Betsy coming in once singing a song from "The Wedding Singer" and if comedy gets any better, I don't want to know about it.

good times

I remember that there was some sort of creature in one of the ponds around the villas, I encountered it late one night and whatever it was, it went splashing into the water and scared me half to death (reminds me of a joke, please see Chip's website) this is possibly akin to the legend of the Loch Ness Monster and all of the alleged "sightings" of an elusive aquatic creature that scares some people half to death but that others scoff at over tea and crumpets or at least 7up and Twizzlers

good times

I remember I got to ride in a convertible for the first time thanks to Katy Cuthbertson (and her convertible) and Ashley Dorn and Brendan were with us also because hey, it was campus outreach night, kids ... and we played DCF music loud but not all that loud and some guy tried to pick up Ashley or at least say hey to her but then saw Brendan and assumed he was with her (which he was but not in that way) and so said "Oh sorry, man, sorry" and Brendan said, "Oh, don't worry about it" and we all thought that was pretty funny. And also I found out that Katy's last name was Cuthbertson and recognized it and said "You live in 505 McCabe" because I knew that the person who lived exactly above me had a similar last name to my roommate (Culbertson) and told her as much and let me tell you she was a good bit more excited about it than you are right now. Haha I made you read a boring story but get OVER it Joe

I remember Joe and I playing frisbee golf when we should have been making preperations for dinner since the girls were coming over but instead we just made those preparations at 5:20 when the girls were coming at 5:30

good times

Hey I remember this time that this random group of girls came up to me and one of them said "Hey! How have you been?" and acted like she knew me (apparently the rest of them had put her up to it) and they all laughed and walked off and I was annoyed at first but then decided I would play along, so I ran and caught up to her and said "Hey, Allison! I didn't know it was you at first!" and I had picked that name at random, but it just so happened that her name WAS Allison and so she was just really confused

good times

Big Break '98 Memories!

(submitted by David McMahan)

I remember that time our Bible Study had the meeting on the pool deck. Scott brought IBC root beer, but I didn't indulge because I hate root beer (sorry, I had a bad experience with it once). Anyway, I thought I was going to get written up by the cop even though I would not even touch a root beer bottle! I didn't get written up, but I was still technically in trouble because he wrote it up as warnings to rooms and Tom and Cameron were my roomates. So I couldn't break any rules for the rest of the week! (Thanks guys.)

Those were the days.

(submitted by Bonnie Apgar)

I remember the time at Big Break when my room made dinner for Kevin's room.
And we had a little incident involving kool-aid before the guys arrived.
It was accidentally spilled in the refrigerator, but we didn't notice this
until the fridge started bleeding red kool-aid. Unfortunately some of the
kool-aid leaked into the hashbrown casserole we were supposed to feed the
guys that night. So we kinda scooped that part out. So the guys ate it
anyway (I don't think we told them what had happened) and they even liked
it. (During the course of making that meal we used an entire roll of paper
towels. And I wasn't even responsible for any of the cooking. I set the
table, made place markers and folded the napkins.)

I remember that one time when we were having a meeting in the big tent it
was pouring rain and the wind was blowing and we could hardly hear what the
speaker was saying. So in the middle of his talk the speaker stopped so he
could pray and ask God to help us concentrate. As soon as he started
praying the rain stopped completely and so did the wind. You could hear
everyone oohing and ahhing. It was pretty awesome.

I remember how we me made a tiger paw in the sand for our creative campus
picture. And we had it all drawn out on the sand and everything, but then
we all had to get up and move because the photographer couldn't see us from
that angle. And then the paw didn't look quite as good, but it was still
cool.

I remember that I met many, many people there for the first time, including
but not limited to Scott, Darren, David Impson, Kelly Pennington, and
Brendan. However I did not meet Kevin or David there, I already knew them
(though not very well). And even though
Cameron was there I didn't get to meet him until a couple weeks later when
we went camping.

I remember how last year there was this very LARGE sign by the dumpster all week that read "GATOR RACE TR" and was broken off. Well by the end of the week Josh Shiflet and I decided to take the sign since it was clearly trash. It was so large it took both of us to carry it - we got it over the bridge, but then about 50 yards beyond that the cops drove up in their golf cart and said "where are you going with that?" and we told them and they said "You need to put that back, it was there for a reason." (The reason, apparently, was that it was TRASH) so we carried it back.

Good times.

I remember how David was sick all week.

Not so good times.

I remember at a campus meeting Shannon and Taryn asked if any of the guys would go with them to Wal-Mart, Josh and I discussed it for 2 seconds and then he stood up and said "We'll go" and everybody laughed.

good times

I remember our Bible study (Tom, Josh Shiflet, Scott, David, Cameron and myself) meeting on the pool deck one night for discussion, and Scott provided IBC rootbeer, but then in the middle of a prayer a cop shined a light down on us and asked us what we were doing with glass bottles, and all of our rooms got written up for that

good times

I remember we had some girls over for dinner and T.R. spilled Kool-aid

I remember Josh met this guy who was as excited about the Snickers story as he was

I remember meeting Kyle Brown, Betsy Morgan, Taryn Hall, Catherine Davis and Kara Sexton for the first time (not all at once)

I remember the pools were realllly cold, but there was one heated pool, and the hot tubs were really hot but there was one that was only moderately warm, but we were all in that one one night becaues the others were full, and some people (including Cameron) were dashing into the reallllly cold pool and coming back to the moderately warm hot tub to make it seem warmer. did you catch all that?

good times

(submitted by Joe Slack)

Remember that time Kevin wouldn't give me my friend's email address even
though she was in his room visiting his room mate at the time?!

How can you forget Ross "swimming" for his frisbee in the reflection pond?

oh, and last but not least, there was THAT time when we played frisbee golf
after midnight.

GOOOOOOOOOD Memories!

Remember that time Joe ate breakfast with Jess, Chris Davis, Bonnie and I, and asked me to put it on my webpage? It was the first time I ever saw Joe at breakfast. And he had an omelete AND two pancakes. And there was that poor girl Jessica across from him from one of his classes, and I told her not to hang around Joe as she was leaving?

good times.

Remember how after I typed that, she showed up at my room that night because she knew my roommate, and was in his astronomy class and they were studying??? And Brandt introduced us and we were like "We met this morning!"

good times.

(submitted by Bonnie Apgar)

Remember the time I was on crutches because I sprained my ankle at the
Crusade dance. And then the guys carried me whenever we went anywhere
because it was much faster than waiting for me to crutch. Usually Joe
carried me although others did help. And one time I walked back from
Crusade with Cam, David and Kevin. And Cameron carried me halfway back and
Kevin carried me the other half.

I remember this time when I had chocolate cake in my room left over from my
sister's birthday. And I was giving it out to people and I told Kevin and
Joe on IM that they could come over and get some, so they did. And it was
like midnight when they came over. ahh good times

I remember this time when Kevin showed up at Crusade in a tux. Cameron and
Darren also showed up to Crusade in tuxes one time, but not the same time
as Kevin. And the time they showed up in tuxes was the time we spent like
an hour and a half taping about 7000 candy canes to postcards (most of
which were red, but there were a few rare green ones) and John Cliver and
Kevin and I had a system down. But I never did get one in my mailbox.
Then at Christmas Conference a few weeks later there was a big bag of candy
canes that had been ripped off the postcards that had never been delivered.

Hey remember the time Kevin played the congas in Crusade.

I remember this time that I held the door for Jess but not for Bonnie and I got yelled at

good times

I remember this time I stayed in all weekend reading some book for English class

not so good times

I remember this time after one of the Crusade dances my freshman year, some of us were helping clean up, and in the room with all the chairs, Josh and I found a piece of paper with a large "A" written on it and it said "ACTIVE" underneath, and David or Andrea took some pictures of us with the sign and I kept the sign, it must have been the Valentine's dance because Jean was there and I didn't know Jean on Halloween, plus no one was dressed up.

good times

I remember this time that Jess gave me a 3-Musketeers

good times

(submitted by Bonnie Apgar)

Hey remember that time the Sophomore Six (Scott, Kevin, David, Tom, Chris Foster, And Louis (Cam couldn't come)) invited the Zingers (Shannon, Katie, Lisa, Jen, me, and Jess (Taryn and Amber couldn't come)) on a creative date. It began with a scavenger hunt. And that started with a frisbee being thrown at Katie and Shannon's door. It next took us over to the soldier statue over by Bowman field. Next we got to go to the tiger statue by Littlejohn. We next went to the Magic Mart to buy Cinnaburst gum, as instructed by the clue. To retrieve the clue we had to say to the cashier at the store "Red Monkeys fly at dawn". He didn't find that too amusing, but he did give us the next clue which sent us to the juvenile section of the library. We were given the call letters to a book called "True Men". How appropriate. That clue then sent us to the internet to look at Kevin's webpage. (Ahh, scavenger hunts of the nineties.) There we read a cute story about how our Bible Study got its name and then went to Katie and Shannon's room as the clue instructed us to do. Once there we read a message on the door which told us to go to Strom Thurmond. At that point we got a clue from some random guys who got roped into this. This clue sent us to Newman Hall. We thought "oh, ice cream, cool", but no we weren't done there. We did meet the guys there though. Then they toook us out to the botanical gardens. There we dined on some yummy fried rice, made by Tom Manley and enjoyed the nice weather and conversation. And to top it all off the guys brought Zingers for desert. Ahh, good times.

(Here is the clue mentioned above)

Remember that time that Tom Manley went over to Shannon and Katie's room because the Sophomore Six Bible Study had a bunch of Zingers left over from its meeting (back when the girls' Bible study met at the same time) so Tom took the extra Zingers over to Shannon and Katie's room (since that's where they met) and threw them at the girls and thats how their Bible study got its name (I don't remember it I wasn't there) but anyway

Good times them was

Ah if only we could return to those times again (we can't of course, although we can return to the place)

If you want to share in my nostalgia...

Hey remember that time I was sick and wanted some chicken soup so I got some courtesy of Bonnie and Kim's room but did not have a can opener and it took at least 4 trips between Holmes and McCabe by various people to get the soup made but then I did have a can opener after all

those were the days

Remember that time David drank Coca-Cola

Remember that time Brandt drank Cheerwine

good times

Remember that time Brandt lost the key to our room and we had to get a new lock on the door

good times

Remember that time (this is for you David) that we went around with a video camera and Kristen C. Baker and Cara Belcher and Josh Shiflet all dressed in orange and filmed random things around campus (REMEMBER THE BELL SCENE THAT WAS THE BEST) and it included police cars also and we put it together into a semi-coherent video and they were going to show it at Crusade but it messed up

good times

Remember that time Cameron got the handicapped parking sign out of the reflection pond and kept it in his room

Remember that time there was a game on Halloween and nobody came because it was fall break but Cameron and Catherine Davis were there, and didn't the flagline looked cute in their witch outfits with brooms and me and Eric Ruhl made up somes cheers for the football team including "Seventeen, Halloween" when we had 17 points

those were the days

Remember that time we ate dinner at 5:00 and then some of us headed over to Cameron's to watch the Simpsons

good times

Remember that time Dave Schubert said "Frisbee golf tonight"

Remember that time Joe was talking about what a good day he was having (probably because of some girl) and I told him I was going by Manifest and he went too and made a $50 or $60 dollar purchase and said the day had gotten even better

Remember that time before the Valentine's dance that some of us went to Applebee's and there were more guys than girls and I was afraid I would get stuck at a table with all guys but then I didn't and I ate my food and Allison's too and could have eaten dessert also but no one else was and then some people went to the dance and some didn't and Nathan thought that was Valentine's Day but it was actually the next day

Remember that time in 10th grade that April Mackall was telling me how to remember the spelling of "DESSERT" v. "DESERT" because DESSERT had two S's for Sugar and Sweet, but then I said DESERT could be Sand and Sun, and thus I ruined the only way I could ever potentially have had to remember which was which and now I have to remember who was right every single time (not really a Clemson memory but anyway)

Good times.

(submitted by Allison Hennessey)

Do you remember that time we went to Clemson House for dinner and Billy
kept complaining that the sun was in his eyes, but nobody was clever enough
to get up and close the blinds? That would just make too much sense. And
then we had about a 15-minute-long debate about whether Billy was actually
eating Beanie Weenies or just cocktail weenies. (I was right, they were
cocktail weenies.) Then do you remember that Cameron, John Cliver, and
Billy sang the Beanie Weenie song? And then do you remember how Joe
completely ruined my Oscar Mayer joke, so Cliver took over and dragged the
joke out for about 10 minutes?

Those were the days. (That was yesterday!)

Hey Kevin, do you remember that time you didn't read your Music
Appreciation assignment? Those were the days. Wait, no, that's EVERY day!

Hey Kevin, do you remember that day on the way to class that you said to
Cameron, "Appreciate theater for us!" Oh, my bad again. That's every day
too.

Hey Kevin, do you remember that time we were rehearsing for the
Pass-in-Review concert and you yelled my name while I was at the front of
the stage, but I didn't hear you? Those were the days (...that I don't
remember!)

Hey Kevin, remember that night that you played in the Symphonic Band
concert and I ushered for it, so afterwards we stood outside the door to
the auditorium where Crusade was that night, you in your tux and me in my
skirt and blouse, and tried to get people to believe that you took me to
the Prom? (And some of them actually did?) Those were the days...

(Bonnie's version of the Beanie-Weenie story (submitted without her knowledge))

Hey remember that time we were at Clemson House and talked about Beenie Weenies for like five minutes. And a bunch of the guys even had a Beenie Weenie song to accompany the conversation. And all because Billy got Beenie Weenies for dinner, but they weren't really Beenie Weenies. They were cocktail weenies, even though the calendar said "Beenie Weenie night at Clemson House". Did you enjoy that completely pointless commentary? Haha

That's Good Eatin'

Hey remember that time that Shannon Cooke ate a goldfish at Crusade?
good times

I remember this time after Crusade that Taryn gave me a Cadbury cream egg
Good times

I remember this time that it snowed and melted the same day
Good times

I remember this time that I was wiping off an apple in Harcombe before I ate it and visible dirt became apparent on the napkin
Good times

I remember this time that Bonnie and I talked on IM until 2:00 A.M.
Good times

(submitted by Ryan Hardister)

i remember this time that i went down to visit Kevin at clemson for a weekend,
and i got this really cool guided tour, starting with the cafeteria where we
ate lunch. and we went to a chemistry building where i thought that it was
either gonna blow up at any minute, or i was gonna catch some rare disease.
after that, i saw the library which seemed more like a prison than anything
else, especially with those "secret" emergency exit stairways, and that
underground tunnel that runs around the whole thing. and then we went back to
kevins room and he got his hair cut off. then we went camping. that was
pretty cool because we couldn't find all the poles to put both tents up, but
some how we managed. it was really cool.

I remember this time that several of us went to the Pops concert on Friday night and I personally thought that it was top-notch. It was cool because I got to see Darren sing solo on "All For You" by Sister Hazel and also doing some vocal percussion, and Cameron with the B-Sharps performing a personal favorite of mine "Blackbird" and I thought that the B-Sharps had some particularly good selections, and there were many other people I knew performing such as Allison and Iowa and Shelley and Dori and Jason Finley and Ben Bolt. There is nothing quite like high quality vocal music especially when you know many of the people and many of the songs.

So I was doing laundry one day and I went to the Holmes basement laundry room only to find that it was entirely full, so I preceded on over to Dillard and loaded my clothes into three washers. Discovering that I had no detergent I ran back to McCabe to get it. When I returned I got 5 dollars in quarters from the change machine, only to discover that the machines there did not take quarters, only Tiger Stripe, and that although I could wash them, I would not be able to afford to dry them since I was $0.75 short on my Tiger Stripe, so when I came back to put them in the dryer I decided that I would pay somebody else to use their Tiger Stripe, but then I realized that I had left all the quarters in my room, so I would have to pay them a whole dollar, and I knew Billy would be there and thought that would work out well since he had given me a Dr. Pepper once anyway, but as it ended up I got a dryer for free somehow.

The Original John Cliver
submitted by John Cliver

hey i remember this time that i got arrested and i missed chem lab...
those were the days

and i remember this time that i wore a cape and flapped toboggan to
harcomb and this guy that i don't even know came up to me and asked why
i was so stupid.

and i remember this other time at harcomb when Kevin got up to go get
more food and when he came back i said a make-believe punchline to a
joke that was never told and we all laughed and kevin laughed too.

I remember this time that David, Cameron, Jess, Betsy, Nathan, Darren, Allison, Wendy, Jon Noel, John Clark, Craig Stevens, Billy, Jimmy, Shannon, Taryn, Jen, Joe, Scott, Clay, Adrianne, Catherine, Jessica, Steven, and I went to Bonnie's house. Wow, that's a lot of people. I didn't even know everyone. Well anyway, thanks, Bonnie!

I remember this time when me and Jess and Bonnie and David were in Charlotte and we went to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center where my dad works and went to the 4th floor to see my dad in his office but he was not there

Those were the days

Hey I remember this time that Jess, Bonnie, Cameron, David, Darren, Catherine, Jon Noel, Iowa, Allison, Heikki , Joe and I all went to the Michael W. Smith / Chris Rice concert in Asheville .... we stopped at McDonalds on the way up and nobody liked that choice so we all went to Wendy's. Then we went to Spelman Auditorium and stood in line for a good 40 minutes generally acting goofy before we finally went in and sat up on the balcony (but close to the stage) and looked through the Baptist hymnals until the show started, and there was this girl in the front row who knew the words to every single song (you could see her singing along) and she was forced to go up and rap on one of the songs and Mr. Smith was impressed .... Also, Darren and Allison were yelling out requests (Allison's was immediately honored but Darren's was honored after the 3rd time or so, with Michael W. Smith showing a hint of impatience by saying "Alright already!" (That's our Darren!)) after the show we drove around Montreat (not much to see there at night but I did see the arch that is pictured on David's door and also the street that David lives on) and we went to the bookstore where Michael W. Smith and Chris Rice were answering questions, and boy was it packed so we didn't stay there long (we could have borrowed Chris Rice for our own Q & A session since everybody wanted to talk to Michael) then we went to IHOP where we ate chocolate chip pancakes and other delights, and on the way back Iowa was driving about 70 in a 55 zone (in the rain) and said "I don't really care, I just want to get home" and Bonnie said "On Friday night I don't think it really matters as long as you're not swerving around" but the next thing you know (actually about 30 minutes later) Iowa starts going off of the road and for a second we all think he has fallen asleep at the wheel but he says "I got pulled" and sure enough there are flashing blue lights behind us and Iowa gets a ticket (we see Darren and Catherine zoom by, no doubt there was much laughter and commentary) the whole ordeal took about 15 minutes, then finally we got back to Clemson (after about 3 repetitions of the same Sarah McLaughlin CD)

good times

seems like it was only this January

So me and David were walking to McCabe one night, and behind us this girl (who neither of us knew) dropped a video cassette into a puddle. A large, uninviting group of guys was standing there and one asked "Who dropped something?" and another said "That girl over there" and someone said "Hey, don't get that wet!" and I looked back and the girl was just sort of smiling but probably annoyed and the girl was also going into McCabe and rode the elevator up with us. I looked at the video she was carrying and the movie was Hope Floats.

I thought that was kind of funny. ("Hey, don't get that wet!" She should have replied "Don't worry, Hope Floats!")

I would like to share something that happened last January: I was in my room when I got a call from Josh (I think????) and he said they were having a funeral for Amy's T.V. which Tom had helped commit suicide and so (how could I resist?) I went over there to see and sure enough there was the T.V. laying face down on the floor where it had fallen off a shelf and Tom was taking it apart looking at it and Amy said that she was going to throw it out (which I asked her if she was sure about and she said yes) so me and David and Josh took the responsibility of disposing of the T.V. by taking it over to the Holmes dumpster where we set it on the ledge by the stairs, and with the help of David's printer we made up a sign that said "T.V. for sale - $15 or best offer," put an e-mail address on it (and even created an account for the address) and put a disclaimer on the bottom that said "Note: this T.V. does not work and may emit harmful radiation" and put the sign on the T.V. and sat back to enjoy the show but we never got any e-mail because the next morning the T.V. was laying face down once again, this time on the concrete, and if it had been salvageable before it sure wasn't now, and so it sat there for a few days getting in increasingly worse condition, it was eventually picked up but not before Josh took some screen from it and said "Maybe I can use this as a glare guard for my monitor"

those were the days

Remember that time that it was the end of the nostalgia page? But don't worry, because new memories are being made daily and being added to this page about 1/12 that often
